Ikea – Oh I how I love thee! We spent several hours there this past Saturday and…I want it all! But of course, I had to leave much of the store behind…well…really like everything (boo :() but this…
We actually bought 3 because I just knew I could do something with them. Right?!?
We got home and days later I still had no clue what I was going to do with these lovely frames so I started perusing Pinterest. I just knew I would find an idea or two or three or four…..
Well, after hours of finding everything BUT what I was looking for this picture stopped me from looking any further.
This was perfect – I could use one of the frames at least! 🙂 Thank you The Logan Family for the free download. I quickly sent it to Walgreen’s to be printed in an 11×14 (using a 25% off code) and as soon as I got off work headed there. I couldn’t wait to put this in my new frame and hang on my wall.
Why yes, I still had the frame in my car. I mean who gets things out of there car as soon as they get home. Not this family. 🙂 I went in to get the print and the guy working the photo lab was so sweet – he told me that he really needed to read that today and thanked me for printing it. Another one of those God things!
I then raced to my car, got the frame out and…my heart dropped.
It didn’t fit! The measurements for the print or the frame or something were off. Okay, no big deal. I would go to Hobby Lobby and search for a different frame, so at 7:30pm I headed to my favorite craft store. Mind you they close at 8pm but I had to do this – that night. This is how I get anytime I have a bright idea, no stopping until it’s d.o.n.e!
I searched 3 aisles for the perfect frame to no avail. Nothing fit! By this point I realized that Walgreen’s cut the print shorter than 11×14. Hmmm..what to do now? Two options: 1. Go back to Walgreen’s and ask for a reprint or 2. Craft this baby up. So considering the fact that Hobby Lobby was flashing its lights trying to get everyone out of the store and the fact that I had to finish it tonight – Crafty Melissa it was!
I found a larger frame (50% off), decided to make my own mat, cut the excess white off and BAM my masterpiece!
I think I am in love! It is now hanging on the wall across from the bathroom so it can be seen by anyone after they take care of business. 🙂
I am so glad that those 3 Ikea frames led me to this masterpiece but now what to do with those?!? Back to Pinterest I suppose. 🙂
